Carbon Fiber Body Kits-Take Advantage of an Amazing Material

February 8th, 2010

Most car owners at least tinker with the idea of modifying their car in some way or another. Often these thoughts of modification might lead even beyond performance auto parts and to the idea of using a body kit to radically alter the way that their car looks.

For those who are looking to modify a car, a body kit is normally a good place to start. In fact, for many of us, a good body kit is the core of building a custom look that can be nothing short of spectacular. There are lots of body kits on the market, and you might be wondering why so many of them seem to be made from carbon fiber. If you don’t know much about carbon fiber, you will soon understand why carbon fiber is so attractive for manufacturers that build carbon fiber body kits.

Anyone who has taken some time to evaluate body kits quickly learns that there are lots of options. More than likely you have also learned that many of those options use carbon fiber in their construction. There is good reason for this fact. Carbon fiber is some scary cool stuff that is deserving of admiration. Once you understand how impressive carbon fiber is, you will probably be wondering how come they haven’t paved the planet in the stuff!

Carbon fiber is such a darling in the manufacturing world because it is lightweight, very flexible and as tough as the hatred of a mother-in-law. In fact, carbon fiber has an atomic structure that is similar to another impressive substance, graphite. Graphite has been used in wide scale manufacturing for generations. Carbon fiber can be bent into all sorts of cool shapes, yet comparatively it weighs very little and is just plain tough.

With carbon fiber, automakers and body kit manufacturers have a material that lets them produce lightweight parts that are durable, strong and impressively flexible. This, of course, allows them to produce cars that are lighter and more fuel-efficient. Now when you are thinking about modifying your car or truck, it’s always a good idea to consider how much weight you are adding. The good news with carbon fiber is that this wonder material allows you to get the look you want without adding much weight. That makes carbon fiber a true winner.

Love Motorcycles? Use Them On Your Checks!

February 8th, 2010

It’s easy to show your interests and personality these days, even when it comes to your bank checks. If you take a look at any website that sells checks you will find hundreds of themes available to choose from. From animals to landscapes, it’s possible to find images that suit any personality. If it’s motorcycles you’re into, there’s a variety of themes to be found.

These days, with the high cost of gasoline, motorcycles can offer an economic alternative to other modes of transport. Small motorcycles get better miles per gallon when it comes to gasoline and take up less space on the road. In some countries, like Vietnam, motorcycles have become the preferred mode of transport. In London, England, motorcycles are exempt from the city congestion fee, making some people prefer them to cars.

Motorcycles mean different things to different people and these interests can be showcased on your motorcycle personal checks. These days, you don’t just have to ride a Harley to be a motorcycle buff.

However, if you ride a Harley, you pretty much have a wide array of choices for your motorcycle checks. Since Harley-Davidsons first came onto the scene in Milwaukee in 1903, they have inspired a bevy of loyal customers. Their logo-inspired merchandise alone accounts for 5% of their annual sales. Whether you drive a Sportser, a Dyna, or a Softail, it is fairly easy to find Harley themed personal checks that fit your style. Some companies even offer checkbook covers that match the motorcycle checks.

Are you a policeman? You can also find personalized checks that contain references to careers. There are many police forces that use motorcycles as means of transport. Some companies offer checks with designs that represent not only police officers’ service to their community, but also feature the motorcycles they ride on while doing so.

Americans’ love of freedom can be symbolized by images of classic motorcycles, like the Indian. The open road is often connected to motorcycles and nothing says freedom like flying down the highway with the wind in your face. Patriotic themed checks frequently have images of the bald eagle, American flag, and classic motorcycles.

Speed and adventure are themes that are usually associated with motorcycle riding, nonetheless. Street bikes can be ridden at track races for exciting and extreme competitions. Dirt bikes and drag racing is featured as images on some motorcycle checks. For those that go to the races, it’s not just entertainment, but an entire way of life.

Having an image that speaks of your passion for motorcycles can be a great way to personalize your checks. If you own a motorcycle business, it can also be a good marketing tool, which is another reason that some people prefer to have an image on their otherwise plain checks.

If you order your motorcycle checks online, rather than at your local bank, you can generally save 50%. It’s also easier to search for themes that you want, as well as to look at hundreds of images. When you order online, you can generally get duplicate checks, as well as matching checkbook covers.

Before you purchase motorcycle checks, go to Motorcycle-Checks.com to get coupons and to save up to 50% off your next purchase of motorcycle personal checks.

Cheap Automobile Insurance

February 7th, 2010

Automobile insurance is usually purchased for two main reasons. One is so an automobile is in compliance with the law. The other is to make sure an accident doesn’t break your bank account.

Minor fender benders usually do not require the operator going to hospital. The insurance coverage will pay for an operator to get checked just in case, and is a good practice. Some injuries are not visible immediately following a car wreck. Also if you vehicle is parked when a nasty type of storm or or earthquake hits. Any damages incurred will be paid in full.

If the verdict of an accident is claimed as the insured operator’s fault, and the other parties are hurt, you will be excluded from the possibility of being sued. Even if a lawsuit is not pressed, the other operator’s medical expenses will be paid by your insurance company. Make sure you read the limitations of what your automobile insurance provider covers with the amount of premium you pay.

When you find yourself in a financial bind, and you have chosen an insurance company based on the low rates. Use caution. Sometimes these companies don’t hold up to their end of the contract by paying for damages.

Some insurance companies offer a lower price, but usually do not cover most situations. Look out for this when deciding on a company. The worst experience to have is to have to come up with money you don’t have, because of an accident you assumed was covered.

Some inexpensive providers are difficult to file a claim with after an accident occurs. This is because while offering an individual a lower rate, the company cannot afford to pay the wages of a crew of adjusters that are needed to handle claims in a timely fashion. This can be a major disadvantage when your car has become a total loss, leaving you with no vehicle.

Although it seems tedious make sure you consider the reputation of the provider. Check feedback sections on websites to gather facts about other consumers, situations, and how they are handled. This can assist with your decision.

Are Loud Motorcycle Pipes Really That Big Of A Problem In The World?

February 6th, 2010

I have been reading and hearing allot lately about people who are saying that loud Motorcycle Pipes are a major problem in the world. These groups are trying to get those in Government to pass all sorts of new inspection laws for Motorcycle Pipes.

Seeing as Motorcycles make up such a small percentage of the Traffic on the road I would say this problem is very minimal at best. ( I wonder how many cars with bad mufflers are heard that many think are Motorcycles)

These people complain saying Motorcycle Riders like loud pipes because they are juvenile and want to show off and say Hey look at me and draw attention to themselves.

The reason many Bikers like loud pipes is not to say look at me, its to say look out for Me! Many Car drivers these days are talking on the phone, texting , putting on make up , eating , playing loud music , watching Dvds and just not paying attention to the road in front of them. If your in a car an you get hit ,You may get a dent in your car, We could Die! (Nothing enjoyable in life is completely safe)

These groups against loud pipes know gathering citizens together to complain is very easy , if they ask people while they are sitting around all summer long bored “Have you ever heard a Loud Motorcycle Go By?” they are going to say yes they Have!” These groups are then going to talk about how annoying these Motorcycles are and convince these bored people how much better their lives would be if these Motorcycles where gone! These bored people are going to jump right on board!

But now ask these same people when was the last time you heard a loud Motorcycle go by? They will probably hard pressed to find an answer! Was it Weeks ago? Months ago? was it Two years ago?

There are already laws on the books in every state that say a Motorcycles pipes can only be so loud! We do not need new laws on the books that most officers will do nothing about while others will abuse !

This Country spends too much time whining about things! Lets stop and think about Motorcycles. Motorcycles prevent traffic, They prevent wear and tear on the roads, They are great for saving Fuel. They are also a great relaxer, Those who Ride Motorcycles are a lot less stressed!

If people stopped complaining about Motorcycles and went and rode a Motorcycle they might not be so bored with their lives and they would have something better to do with their time!!!

Those who Ride enjoy Life a lot More, This is like therapy and religion all rolled up into one for us! Please do not bring the stress and problems of your dull boring lives into our world !

If you are that board and are looking for something to do with your life email me and I will help you find something better to do with your time. Maybe we can find something you can do that could actually help make the world a better place!!!

There are many basic requirements that are needed to be there in a CD player but other than that many prefer additional features. The following tips might therefore be very useful.

First we can know about selecting the suitable CD player for your car.CD player can be selected based on the car you have ,we can see cars in different sizes and shapes CD player that you buy also should match your car otherwise the money you invest in buying it is a waste. You might have noticed panel size of the player varies from car to car .So the most important thing is to select an apt player so that it does not spoil your car’s look by any means.

It is preferable to buy a Player with all necessary and up to date features such as using drives in your player, whether DVD can be used, should make sure of digital displays without that which will be much more difficult to operate in dark. And knowing about the built in amplifiers would be better before deciding a Player of your choice. It is not necessary that you have to buy players with all the features in it you may neglect a few which ever you think as it wont serve your purpose.

Most of them show no intrest in seeing a demo for Players though they buy a car after a demo.Listening to an audio player is necessary before you buy a new one.You can ask a demo from the shop you buy some sellers will allow and some may not permit but any dealer who is good enough wont say no for a demo.It is better to reject the shop instead of buyin the player without a demo in order to be in safer side.

The retailer is also important. A good retailer would give an installation of best quality at low prices. They could also give special offers. They also provide good warranty facilities for the products they sell and also give an option of insurance of the player in the case of any theft.

Reliable Trustworthy Car Shippers Can Transport The Vehicle For You

February 5th, 2010

If you have ever made a move across country, you know how long and boring the trip can be if you have more than one vehicle that needs to make the move. Car shippers can help with the move.

If you drive one vehicle and a spouse drives the other, then caravanning across the country can be a long drive. If you move yourself, one vehicle can be towed behind the moving van, but what do you do with the other vehicle.

Some people end up selling one of their vehicles and replacing it when they get to the new home. Buying a new car is not always an option and who knows what you you will get in a used car. It is a shame to sell a perfectly good vehicle and hope to get something close as a replacement one at the new place.

Persons with antique or specialty vehicles, driving the vehicle is unthinkable. Shipping may be the only option to get your collector car to its new home.

The cost of shipping a vehicle is very reasonable. In fact, it will cost little more than you would spend on gas to drive most vehicles the same distance. Your vehicle will arrive safely and in the same shape as when it was loaded onto the trailer.

Your vehicle will be shipped on a trailer loaded with several other vehicles that are headed to a similar destination. This will save adding all of those miles to your vehicle. Once it is safely delivered, you can resume driving the vehicle.

Since several cars will be on the trailer, normal shipping can take two to three weeks. Some shippers offer an upgrade that allows you to get your vehicle to the new destination quicker if needed.

Vehicles can also be shipped in enclosed trailers to avoid more of the possible dangers or the roads like flying gravel chips. You will have to pay extra for this service, but may find that the extra cost is another layer of insurance for that collectors car.

Some shipping companies offer door to door service. Your vehicle is picked up form your old drive way and delivered to the new drive way. If the car arrives before you do, then there is secure storage available for the vehicle.

If your move is too long to drive, then ship all the vehicles and save the long drive by flying. Ship one vehicle to be at the new home to be there for your arrival and keep the second one until moving day. This allows you to have a car at both ends of the move and gets both vehicles to you. It saves the long drive for everyone. You arrive at the new home ready to unpack and get life back in order. Your car arrives in top shape and has not had all the extra miles of wear and tare from a long trip.

How to Get More Bass Power From Your Car Music System

February 4th, 2010

In just seven steps this article will guide you on How to Install a Sub woofer in a Factory Stereo. Very often people who are passionate about adding new additional features to their car stereo like sub woofers take the help of audio professionals to do the job. But this job is not at all complicated and can be done without any experience by following simple steps. In this article we shall also discuss the importance of installation of sub woofers, tips and warning for doing this job.

Depth and powerful sound are important for good quality of music. Speakers can be installed at various places inside the car like door panels, dash and rear decks. They enhance the sound effect for higher notes. But to enjoy lower tones adding a sub woofer to a factory stereo is the best choice. Let us see how to do that now.

The negative cable from the car’s battery is removed initially. The battery’s negative terminal is actually connected with the negative cable and to the car’s frame. The cable’s clamp is loosened with the use of a Philips screw driver. The clamp is removed and it is kept aside until the task is accomplished.

Then the amplifier position is located after which the manual is gone through for any kind of procedure to be followed. The woofer can be placed either in the cargo area at the rear back or the car’s trunk in the case of models like hatch backs or SUV. The speakers are then connected to the output corresponding to each input.

The speaker wires are then routed to the location where the sub woofer is present. The amplifiers may be either close by the sub woofer or even far from them. In such cases the wires are routed to the sub woofers through the carpet layer under the floor of the vehicle. Hiding of the wiring is very essential to give your car a highly professional look.

The trim panels at the opening of the door are all pried from the floor free by using a trim panel removal tool. The carpet is then lifted up and the wiring is laid beneath it. Then using the hands the trim panels are replaced.

After that is done we come to the last step. This seventh step is nothing but reconnecting the ground cable with the vehicle battery’s negative terminal. Fix the clamp on the lead and use the same Philip screw driver which we used for loosening now to tighten the clamp of the cable. Before starting to do this job always make sure if the output from the amplifier can be handled by the sub woofer added.

One must definitely know the simple steps on how to install a sub woofer in a factory stereo, to avoid unnecessary visits to the audio professional.

1967 Corvette

February 4th, 2010

The C2 generation which was the last five year run for the 1967 Corvette. The top engineers at General Motors wanted more wind tunnel time even though the 1967 Corvette was to be a total redesign, it turned out to be another carry over Sting Ray. This new car was not a disappointment and it was proven to be the best Sting Ray ever made. The famed C3 generation would have to wait one more year before it began.

The most finely tuned Sting Ray turned out to be the 1967 Corvette. The changes were not all that dramatic but they did make for a cleaner looking Corvette. Some of the notable changes to the 1967 Corvette were…

Front Fender Vents: Five front fender vents replaced the three that were on the 1966 Corvette.

Back-up Light, The 1967 Corvette had a newly designed single back-up light which was mounted just above the license plate holder.

Wheel Covers, The 1967 Corvette did away with the older looking wheel coverings and made way for the Rally wheels which featured chrome beauty rings with small chrome center caps to hide the lug nuts.

Handbrake, The handbrake was moved from beneath the dash to between the seats for the 1967 Corvette.

The engines for the 1967 Corvette changed very little but did end up producing more power. Returning in 1967 was the two small block V-8s as too did the big block. This time though, the big block would be concealed under a redesigned hood scoop. Because of a switch to triple two barrel carbs, the two largest engines were able to put out 400 and 435 bhp.

The optional L88 engine which featured many lightened parts and other special upgrades that gave the engine an incredible 560 bhp which would thrill speed freaks. The super engine had one problem which was the fact it took only 103 octane racing fuel and consequently did not make for a good option to be driven on a daily basis… There were 20 buyers in 1967 that took the package that would add a huge $1,500 to the base price of just over $4,200.

As time passed the fans and critics looked back and agreed the 1967 Corvette was the best Corvette ever made. In 1967 this was not the case because everyone was waiting on the now overdue C3 generation to be released. The result was the 1967 Corvette underselling the 1966 Corvette by 5,000 units. The newest Corvette would be a matter of time and when it was released many would be shocked to see the name Sting Ray was taken away. Though added back in 1969 as ‘Stingray’ there would never again be another Sting Ray, especially not like the one that GM put out in 1967.
