Surprises About The History Of Hybrid Cars

The first problem with working out which was the first hybrid vehicle, is deciding what the term ‘hybrid vehicle’ means. It then took until president Bill Clinton took the initiative to instigate the Partnership for a New Generation of Vehicles in 1993. It involved the Dept of Energy, Chrysler, ford, GM and one or two others. G. W. Bush replaced this scheme with his own FreedomCar Initiative in 2001.

This initiative was designed to finance extraordinarily risky or problematic projects for the development of hybrid cars. It has taken us over 100 years to rejuvenate the initial hybrid idea but we only did that because we were compelled to do it.

Formula One racing as it is today evolved from european Grand Prix racing of the early 1900s. The World Championship season in Formula One racing lasts from early spring thru fall each year. Races are three-day events with qualifying and testing run on friday and saturday. Qualification runs are timed sessions. Starting position is based on performance during these qualification sessions.

A race day in Formula One racing is a loud, fast, high-energy time for drivers, groups and spectators. The race is composed of multiple laps around the circuit. This is true whether the race is held on public streets or on a racetrack. A special area alongside of the track is chosen as the pit area. The Advantages of Using a Golf Cart Instead Of Walking

There are many advantages to using a golf cart rather than walking between holes on the course. But, properly using one without bothering other golfers can be a challenge. Let’s examine some of the many benefits of using a cart, and how to be considerate when using one.

The greatest advantage of using a cart, of course, is that it eliminates the need to walk. Golf courses are often quite large. Even if you’re in good shape, it’s easy to become fatigued if you have to carry your clubs and bags all over the course. A golf cart will help you conserve your energy for your golf game, and you can carry more equipment if you use a cart.

A cart will also shield you from bad weather. For example, if it’s sweltering hot, you’ll soon become fatigued and overheated if you walk the course. But if you take a cart along with plenty of water to beat the heat, you’ll be able to keep cool in the shade. Driving a golf cart can help protect you from overheating in the summer, and can keep you from getting drenched in spring and fall rains.

It’s important to remember that if you don’t use a cart regularly, you might not know when you need to move it, or how to drive it the right way. You might end up running back and forth, which is likely to be a nuisance to other golfers. If you don’t know what you’re doing, using a cart may cause more trouble than good.

Make sure you’re careful when using a cart on wet grass or when the ground is damp. If the area is muddy, you should avoid it. Many courses will ask you not to drive on the rough to minimize the impact. When you’re driving and your partner’s ball is next in play, pull up on the right side of the ball, with the ball placed midway down the length of the cart. That gives your partner a short distance to cover.

You should never drive the cart while other golfers are hitting, and most importantly, don’t move in front of them. When you park near the green, place the cart on the side where you’ll be exiting the green. If the ball is on a steep hill, park as close as you safely can, but avoid driving on the hill; this can be hazardous.

Estimate how far it is to the green by reading the distance or making note of landmarks, like bushes and other landscape features. Estimate how far you are likely to send the ball. If you don’t know which club you’ll need, bring more than one so you want have to walk back to the cart multiple times.

Porsche 977 Carrera

A new Porsche 911 is always intriguing because it’s exciting to see how after more than 40 years of development the Porsche team still manages to bring alterations and advancements to this emblematic model.

The new 997 combines the silky contemporary appearance of the 996 series with the popular retro styling of the older 911′s. The front end is completed with round lights and separate parking/fog/indicator lights. This modification, combined with wider hips resembles the last of the air-cooled 911′s, the 993. Other changes in the body shell are the new door handles, wing mirrors and the trendy cut of the rear wings into the bumper/lights.

Even if the 997 looks a lot like the previous model, the 996, the new car is actually 38mm wider which makes for a more forceful appearance. With each new model introduced, Porsche has aimed to lessen the drag co-efficient helping the 911 glide through the air more effectively thereby increasing performance. The same thing has been achieved with the new car, and if we compare the 993 Cd of 0.34 to the 997`s 0.28, we can perceive how far the aerodynamic game has progressed. For the same reason, that is crash safety, the reinforced body shell boasts further protection such as a more extensive use of super high strength steel.

The most recent model is also 50 kg heavier than the 996. The reason is that modern crash safety regulations sort of force vehicle makers to produce new cars of increased weight, despite the prevalent use of a large range of weight saving measures, such as an aluminum bonnet.

Aside from the crash safety advancements, much of the increased weight can be attributed to the higher standard specifications of the new cars.
