The Ford Mustang President Robert McNamara Legacy

January 24th, 2012

When the innovative and trendsetting Ford Mustang automobile legend was introduced to the market, nobody expect its extraordinary increase in sales and fame to automobile enthusiast. It was Jon Najjar and Robert Eggert responsible to make them happened. Ford Motor Company introduced Mustang at the New York World’s Fair in April 17, 1964. Mustang was new design base on the combination of Thunderbird and Ford Falcon.Under the leadership of Ford Company president Robert McNamara Ford had pioneered such concepts as automobile safety and the conceptual marketing of “economy cars” rather than the “big boats” that the market leader G.M. ( General Motors) was famous for. The Ford Falcon was Ford’s very successful economy car model. Essentially the Mustang was built on this proven platform. Ford’s costs and time needed to bring the Mustang to market were little in comparison to a totally brand new product. Production problems as well were not an issue. Hence Ford could readily introduce a very reasonably and low priced sporty product for “60′s” generation and ramp up production in a snap.

After the introduction of its first release in April 17, 1964, Mustang had a new look when Larry Shinoda joined the company. His venture to Ford Company gave way to Sports Roof Mustang models that has three-tail lamps for better rear view vision. In the decade of the 1970′s, Ford created heavier and bigger version of Mustang autos. It uses Knudsen design having Torino or Fairline sheet metal. Unfortunately, this model didn’t last long in the market because most customers preferred fuel miles per gallon gasoline saving cars. On the other hand, Mustang 351 Cleveland was the most popular car during this year due to its special features like hidden shield wrappers, bolt-on facade, wraparound instrumentation, and incredible engine.

Mustang’s new design was made possible through General Motor Engineers and Larry Shinoda. They were hired by Henry Ford to enhance and conceptualize new car models. Sports Roof Mustang was one of their models that had three-element tail-lamps. This new feature helped drivers to have better vision of passing vehicle through rear mirrors. Mustangs produced in 1970′s were heavier and bigger compared from its first release. Knudsen designed the new Mustang using Torino / Fairline sheet metal. It didn’t succeed because car buyers preferred to have fuel economy and safety cars. Ford Company produced great car models like Boss 351, 429 Cobra Jet and 351 Cleveland. But the Mustang 351 C became the most famous among these models. Mustang 351 C have unique features such as wraparound instrumentation, hidden wind shield wipers, bolt-on facade, modular bolt-in dash board, and monster engine.

Mustang II was the smaller model of the 1965 Mustang. It has been released in 1974 with enhance features like embedded bolt-on outlook with sub-frame to isolate engine harmonics. The power of Mustang II was lessen to save more fuel. It has been released at time when oil supply was unavailable. King Cobra did not live long, though it was designed as an evolution of Mustang II. Thus it gave way to the 1979 Mustang which was based on larger Fox platform with enhanced interior suitable for four persons at the back seat. The trunk, as well as the engine was enlarge to have easy engine maintenance. It has high-end suspension with turbo-charging capability. On the other hand, ’79 Mustang was used in the Indianapolis 500 Pace Car. In effect, Form Company produced 10,000 replicas to meet the demand.

During the 1990′s, Fox 4 models became popular though it’s heavier and under-power. This is also the same era when 4.6L SOHC and DOHC V-8s models were used in the GT and SVT Cobra. The 2005 SN197 is believed the safest car of Ford with three-link suspension and axle. Finally, 2010 models will be soon released for public viewing. No doubt about it the Ford Mustang automobile line was both an innovator and trend setter in the automotive marketing marketplace.

A Masterpiece, Ford Mustang!

April 25th, 2010

2007 Ford Mustang’s successful launch proved that pony cars will never be out of style and demand. The new model has come up with various additional features that were not offered in the previous ones, thus making the model a lot more attractive. The body is styled similar to the 2005 model, but axle of rear suspension has been given a changed shape which would result in a very smooth driving experience. It is also worth mentioning that Ford Mustang is a market leader in pony cars segment and the market followers cannot even compete with the performance and affordability of 2007 Ford Mustang. It truly is invincible!

It is the ninth generation pony car which is still similar in appearance to the original car. However, due to the need of today’s time, the car is launched in two different models; each model is loaded with many unique features. The two models are V6 and GT. Each model is launched as a premium or deluxe model. Obviously, the change of name is due to the change in features in each one. Beginning with the engine, both the models have impressive engine performance; V6 has 210 horsepower engine with a capacity of 4.0 lt. The GT models have even more powerful V8 engines with a capacity of 4.6 lt. All 2007 Ford Mustangs come with a rear wheel drive and can go from 0-60mph in less than 6 seconds. This is the immaculate speed transmission technology installed in the model.

The 2007 Ford Mustang also comes in a standard and pony package. Each package is targeted to meet the wants and demands of a different customer segments. The standard package V6, as the name suggests, is the standard model with not many unique features available, for e.g. power mirrors, air conditioner, 16inch wheels etc. The pony package is targeted to sporty adventurous people, who would love to have a sport tuned suspension system so that they can have all the adventure while driving 2007 Ford Mustang. Along with this the car also has fog lamps and very exotics front grills which gives a very sporty look to the car.

2007 Ford Mustang’s V6 deluxe package offers a high degree of customization, by allowing customers to add their required features in their cars. Thus making their customers feel valued and cared-for. The premium model is focusing on the needs of the customer segment which cannot experience a smooth drive without music. For this need, the V6 model offers Shaker 500 music system and GT model offers even a more advanced Shaker 1000 stereo system. The GT deluxe is not very much different than the V6 deluxe; however, it comes with a slightly advanced technology in the shape of antilock braking system. The GT premium model along with the high tech music system also provides the customers with luxurious leather interior.

The models accelerations differ because of V6 and V8 engines in V6 and GT models respectively. But this difference does not hold much value when the fuel consumption aspect is taken into account. 2007 Ford Mustang is a remarkable launch in the car industry primarily because of its extremely efficient fuel consumption system. For city it is 19mpg and on highway it is 28mpg which is mind-blowing. It can verifiably be said that, 2007 Ford Mustang is a must have if you are one those who want to enjoy pleasure without pain!

2007 Ford Mustang has set up new standards of performance for the competitors to meet. Along with all the striking features, they also have kept in mind the post purchase experience for the customers should be pleasant; because if the post purchase dissonance occurs, the future sales would decline. Therefore, they have manufactured the car in such a way that it would not require too much maintenance efforts and bucks. Last but not the least; it has to be mentioned that 2007 Ford Mustang has opened up new eras of comfort and customer satisfaction. It is the most appropriate option for all those who love to have luxury but without mountaining their payment bills.
