A number of staggering stories have been revealed over the decades, finding the obscure “barn find” would appear almost impossible that any more could exist. Time has shown us a lot of lessons and none are more prevalent than the fact that history repeats itself. Of course, given some time, it is possible, but the story around this ’42 Harley-Davidson WLC looks hardly able to see a sequel. A real barn find makes for a good tale, but a World War II Harley Davidson adorned in Honda components and hidden away in a barn in rural Devon, England? Well that would make a great story.

Custom builder Nick Gale tells us, “I found it when I was visiting a loved one a decade ago. I got to talk to a local farmer whilst walking my dog one night and he said he has an old motorcycle his old man had bought in 1945 from a Canadian soldier at the conclusion of the Second World War. He explained to me he thought it was a Harley, and that it is for sale. The bike was stashed in his barn from 1945 until1981 he made a decision to make use of it and get it running.”

Looking over the motorcycle, it had 18-inch front and rear wheels from Honda, a vintage Honda petrol tank, Honda fenders, a Suzuki headlight, handlebars from an lronhead Sportster, a hand clutch, and a big Vincent sprung seat. The farmer had coated the entire bike yellow, including all the nuts and bolts. Nick continues saying that the motorcycle had a long-expired UK registration and after checking the engine, forks, and frame ensuring they were complete, he sealed the deal for the equivalent of $1,200.

Nick adds, “Once home, I got the motorcycle working and was very happy to see there were no knocking sounds, no smoke, and like every ’42s, once on the road, there are no breaks.”

To prepare the Harley for its resurrection, it was stripped to nothing and thoroughly gone through bolt by bolt. New 16-inch wheels were purchased to replace the Honda tires and the first snafu was encountered. Rolling the front tire under the springer forks was simple enough, but the farmer had heated and bent the rear of the WLC’s body to make room for the Honda wheel to fit. With more than one friend telling him to scrap it, Nick decided to preserve the original frame and just get a little funkier with the build.

Nick said, “The drop seat concept happened when we cut the back off. We used most of the original pipe work and decided to shape the backbone too. And the frame was created. The most challenging aspect was making the seat plunger to enable us to use a new seat cut down by a good few inches from the original design. It spent four hours using a hammer to remove the existing seat post that was fused together.” From this point the story goes stagnant. After owning the bike in 2001 and getting the frame remolded, “custom biker wants” have won and the old Harley was boxed and shelved for another day. That day didn’t come for another decade. In early 2011 the boxes were and readied for work again.

Opening the 45-inch motor revealed another whirlwind find. To Nick’s enjoyment, the inside was almost new and with the crank split, the 70 year old grease spilled out. Examining carefully showed completely unmarked internals with matching numbers. After bringing the entire stock 750cc flathead back together, the Amal carburetor was rebuilt and topped with a brass velocity stack. The rest of the engine decorated with brass over new paint and all oil and gas pipes were created with manually bent copper tubing. The motorcycle was included with a battered and soiled clamshell exhaust. To conceal decades of abuse, the pipes were wrapped to disguise the imperfections plus a curve allows the pipe to kick up a bit for added style.

According to Nick, “The gears are replaced by a smaller sized shifter we made which still runs clutch. All braking systems and clutch components are authentic as are all the switch gear, levers, and cables. Many parts were acquired as authentic or old stock which would possibly be similar as Harley would’ve done decades ago. The motorcycle starts on the first or second kick not to mention the hill brake works just fine, well, sort of.”

Bodywork was kept minimal and carries a classic look, but that’s where the similarities end. The rear fender began life as a triumph piece that was adapted with a custom set of struts and backed with a taillight. Adding some across-the-pond design, the license tag was created to look like an old English pub signage. What would you expect from any English motorcycle builder? Looking deeper into the gas tank, it becomes clear some additional work was done.

Nick designed and constructed the unit into two interlocking parts identical to the original but with a little more flair and a bend more in accordance with the frame tweaks. The seat moves from the framework mounts to a spring within the classic seat post tube. All the rest of the parts are original ’42 Harley WLC or new old stock. A classic black paint was applied most parts of the bike with gold highlights painstakingly painted by hand. All that is needed is a classic motorcycle helmet to complete the WW II look of the bike.

In just two days of its long transformation, the ’42 WLC was shown at the South of England Rally and won its very first trophy as winner of the Best Professional Category. A couple weeks later it was exhibited and won Best Classic at the annual Bulldog Custom Show. After sitting in boxes for 10 years, Nick clearly understood that if he didn’t find the time to sit and work with the Harley, it would be subject to another 10 years of sitting there. It started from an ordinary project into a labor of love, and then developed into an obsession. Nick concludes, “It’s a joy to ride once you get used to it. I love it to death.”

Bear in mind that it’s critical to ensure that you cruise with your bike with safety gear on. Be certain that you keep on authentic motorcycle helmets.

If you ordered personalized checks from your bank in the past, they were usually expensive and not worth the money. Luckily, today you are able to order checks from the Internet at a fraction of the price that it used to cost you.

If you order your checks online, there are literally hundreds of check themes available for you. Harley Davidson, the American icon, is one of the most popular themes.

There are less things regarded as more “Americana” than Harley Davidson motorcycles, aka “Hogs.” These motorcycles are attributed with originating the archetypal American choppers. Harley Davidson launched in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, in 1906. William Harley, Arthur Davidson, and Arthur’s brothers opened the first factory there and today, the headquarters are still situated at the site of the first factory.

Harleys are potent motorcycles that are built for cruising the highway. Not only stylish with their abundance of chrome, but they also come with over 750 cc engines. You can also get your Harley customized, which is wildly popular.

Harleys have been used for many historic events. Pancho Villa used them in the Mexican border conflicts. They were also used during the Korean War, WWI, and WWII. After the Depression, Harley Davidson was one of only two motorcycle companies to continue on.

The longest running model in the Harley Davidson family is the Sportster. Originally intended to be a racing bike, the Sportster is a little lighter than the other cycles.

Over time, of course, other motorcycle companies have become popular. Harleys are still considered classics, however, and are ridden the world over. These choppers also boasts some pretty hard-core fans that even attend yearly reunions with other owners.

Harley has so many fans, in fact, that nearly 5% of their annual sales comes from merchandise alone. If you’re a fan, then carrying Harley Davidson personal checks might be the thing for you. You can be reminded of your Hog with every check you write.

There are many different images available for the Harley checks. The most popular checks show the current models.

There are also checks that have the “Ride Hard, Live Free” motto. These checks are designed by Larry K. Martin and Marc Lacourciere. They are not only trendy but also showcase what Harleys are known for: riding the open road.

Another good thing about the “Ride Hard, Live Free’ checks is that they have not only images of the motorcycle, but also of the American flag and bald eagle. These are very patriotic-inspired checks, as Harley is considered an American classic. If you want to show off your patriotism as well then these might be something you would like to carry.

An incentive to ordering checks online is that you can usually find matching leather checkbook covers and address labels to match.

Duplicate checks with the Harley logo on them can also be found online. These checks are great because they keep a carbon copy of your check as you write them out. That can be helpful when you are balancing your checkbook.

Ordering online can help you save money. They also take about 5 days for delivery, which is about the same time that it would take your bank to mail them to you as well.

Before you order Harley checks, go to HarleyChecks.net to find coupon codes and to save 50% off your next order of Harley personal checks.

Now for those of you who may be asking what is the difference? I will set up a scene to help give you an idea! At a small Bar a member of a Motorcycle Club walks in he sees four Bikers playing pool, He can tell they are a bit nervous, They see his patches and they know who he is with. Now how does he act? Does he walk over to the pool table knock the 8 ball in the pocket say games over and tell one of them to buy him a beer or does he walk over introduce himself and let them know when they are done shooting pool they are welcome to stop over at the bar and have a beer and talk with him! One is the gang way of thinking the other is the Brotherhood way of thinking! I really don't think I need to tell you which is which!

This Month I want to talk about the Brotherhood mentality verses the gang mentality in the Motorcycle Club world . I really don’t think I need to tell you which is which!

Now one thing everyone needs to remember is all of the original Motorcycle Clubs Started out with the idea of being a tight nit group of Brothers and just about all of these Motorcycle Clubs got along. Don’t forget many of the men who started the first MCs where returning home after serving their country during times of war. They where looking for that feeling of Brotherhood here at home that they had been left behind. These where good men seeking adventure, looking to ride their Motorcycles and have a good time with others like themselves. Today most Motorcycle Clubs have gone back to that way of Club thinking, There are very few Clubs that still have the Gang Mentality that was seen mostly during the 70′s threw 90′s. During the late 90′s things had just gotten too far out of hand and most Motorcycle Clubs began to realize the Gang Mentality was not the way it was meant to be and it was not the way they wanted it to be anymore, This was not what the Clubs where started for ! Many Clubs who had been friends where now fighting with each other. No one wanted to wear club support gear and things where just not fun anymore. These MC’s had all started their Clubs with the same ideals and ways of thinking, How and why had they grown so far apart that they now hated each other!

Well the answer to how is during the 50′s and 60′s the golden age of the Brotherhood years of Motorcycling the Motorcycle Clubs where really huge. During this great time many of the Biker Movies that came out showed Motorcycle Club Members as Bullies and thugs. The Bikers in these movies would pick on those weaker then them, take over small towns and the Clubs in these Movies all fought each other just like the street gangs of the time! So of course over time many new Bikers came to believe that this was the way it was. So when New Clubs started this was how they would act and the Original Motorcycle Clubs now had members who where young kids looking to prove how tough they where by starting fights with each other. The Original Motorcycle Club Members had been threw wars together and they where as hard as nails they had nothing to prove to no one, But these younger members felt that they did and would imitate the Biker Clubs from the Movies they had scene and soon it was Biker against Biker, Brother against Brother, MC against MC. This began the Dark age of the Motorcycle Gang Mentality years.

Now for the question Why did this Happen? Well When something Changes the way of thinking and being of Groups like the Motorcycle Clubs so far from their original ideals, You have to ask was it just an accident these movies did this? Or is there more to it? Was there a plan behind it? Is there someone or some group out there that would benefit from having these large groups of Motorcycle Clubs who are run in a very military fashion and are made up of many ex-Military Members fighting against each other? If these Clubs all got along and worked together the world could be a very Different place! Are there people out there who are afraid of this happening?

Today there are very few Clubs left that have the Gang Mentality most have gone back to the Brotherhood way and the word Gang in the Motorcycle Club world has become almost the equivalent of a racial slur. Now as Motorcycle Clubs are beginning to go back to the way it was at the start and trying to put the past behind them, I am noticing that there are more and more Biker movies and TV shows Coming out. Will these shows show MC’s in a good way? Will they go out of their way to stir up the quarrels of the past? Will they show us as mindless Bullies much as the Movie Wild Hogs did? Most Important will we let them influence how we really are? Or have we learned from our past? If all continues to go well we could soon be making are way into the second Gold age of Motorcycle Club Brotherhood back to where it all began!!!

Think about the words Motorcycle Club! Why is it that when those words are heard together many think Crime or Criminal Organization? Say you are having an event and you are looking for a place to have it. You can have a book club and everyone will welcome you in! A cooking club and everyone really loves you. You say Motorcycle Club and right away its, Sorry we are busy on that day!

Motorcycle Clubs are even turned away from bars where they want to have events by Independent Bikers, Why is that? We need to let the world know that Bikers independent or in a Motorcycle Club can be good people! We can not show people that Motorcycle Club Members are not all bad if we are not allowed in a Bar because we are wearing Colors, Its the same thing if you are an independent biker and some one will not let you in some sports bar because you are wearing a leather jacket! I hope when an independent Biker who has turned away Motorcycle Clubs from his bar and is then turned away from a bar he wants to go in Understands the irony!

Some Motorcycle Clubs have even gone so far as to changed their name, they call themselves Riding Clubs, Motorcycle associations or some other type of group so they can leave out the words Motorcycle Club! and try to avoid the problems that come with being part of a Motorcycle Club! They say they are different from a Motorcycle Club ! They look and dress and act just like a motorcycle Club but they just call themselves something different! I say a rose by any other name !!!

These Clubs are just trying to get around all the prejudice associated with the words Motorcycle Club ! They are not part of the solution but are part of the problem! This is America and You can call your Club what ever you want, But the thing that unites you and your Club is the same thing that unites all who Ride! It is the Motorcycle! How can anyone leave out the word Motorcycle? It is the heart of what you are!

If You are a Motorcycle Club be proud of it and don\’t try to get around any problems by playing word games and calling yourself something else by using different words!!! This is just my opinion I would like to know what others think, Please email me at AmericanBikerX@Yahoo.com

It’s easy to show your interests and personality these days, even when it comes to your bank checks. If you take a look at any website that sells checks you will find hundreds of themes available to choose from. From animals to landscapes, it’s possible to find images that suit any personality. If it’s motorcycles you’re into, there’s a variety of themes to be found.

These days, with the high cost of gasoline, motorcycles can offer an economic alternative to other modes of transport. Small motorcycles get better miles per gallon when it comes to gasoline and take up less space on the road. In some countries, like Vietnam, motorcycles have become the preferred mode of transport. In London, England, motorcycles are exempt from the city congestion fee, making some people prefer them to cars.

Motorcycles mean different things to different people and these interests can be showcased on your motorcycle personal checks. These days, you don’t just have to ride a Harley to be a motorcycle buff.

However, if you ride a Harley, you pretty much have a wide array of choices for your motorcycle checks. Since Harley-Davidsons first came onto the scene in Milwaukee in 1903, they have inspired a bevy of loyal customers. Their logo-inspired merchandise alone accounts for 5% of their annual sales. Whether you drive a Sportser, a Dyna, or a Softail, it is fairly easy to find Harley themed personal checks that fit your style. Some companies even offer checkbook covers that match the motorcycle checks.

Are you a policeman? You can also find personalized checks that contain references to careers. There are many police forces that use motorcycles as means of transport. Some companies offer checks with designs that represent not only police officers’ service to their community, but also feature the motorcycles they ride on while doing so.

Americans’ love of freedom can be symbolized by images of classic motorcycles, like the Indian. The open road is often connected to motorcycles and nothing says freedom like flying down the highway with the wind in your face. Patriotic themed checks frequently have images of the bald eagle, American flag, and classic motorcycles.

Speed and adventure are themes that are usually associated with motorcycle riding, nonetheless. Street bikes can be ridden at track races for exciting and extreme competitions. Dirt bikes and drag racing is featured as images on some motorcycle checks. For those that go to the races, it’s not just entertainment, but an entire way of life.

Having an image that speaks of your passion for motorcycles can be a great way to personalize your checks. If you own a motorcycle business, it can also be a good marketing tool, which is another reason that some people prefer to have an image on their otherwise plain checks.

If you order your motorcycle checks online, rather than at your local bank, you can generally save 50%. It’s also easier to search for themes that you want, as well as to look at hundreds of images. When you order online, you can generally get duplicate checks, as well as matching checkbook covers.

Before you purchase motorcycle checks, go to Motorcycle-Checks.com to get coupons and to save up to 50% off your next purchase of motorcycle personal checks.

I have been reading and hearing allot lately about people who are saying that loud Motorcycle Pipes are a major problem in the world. These groups are trying to get those in Government to pass all sorts of new inspection laws for Motorcycle Pipes.

Seeing as Motorcycles make up such a small percentage of the Traffic on the road I would say this problem is very minimal at best. ( I wonder how many cars with bad mufflers are heard that many think are Motorcycles)

These people complain saying Motorcycle Riders like loud pipes because they are juvenile and want to show off and say Hey look at me and draw attention to themselves.

The reason many Bikers like loud pipes is not to say look at me, its to say look out for Me! Many Car drivers these days are talking on the phone, texting , putting on make up , eating , playing loud music , watching Dvds and just not paying attention to the road in front of them. If your in a car an you get hit ,You may get a dent in your car, We could Die! (Nothing enjoyable in life is completely safe)

These groups against loud pipes know gathering citizens together to complain is very easy , if they ask people while they are sitting around all summer long bored “Have you ever heard a Loud Motorcycle Go By?” they are going to say yes they Have!” These groups are then going to talk about how annoying these Motorcycles are and convince these bored people how much better their lives would be if these Motorcycles where gone! These bored people are going to jump right on board!

But now ask these same people when was the last time you heard a loud Motorcycle go by? They will probably hard pressed to find an answer! Was it Weeks ago? Months ago? was it Two years ago?

There are already laws on the books in every state that say a Motorcycles pipes can only be so loud! We do not need new laws on the books that most officers will do nothing about while others will abuse !

This Country spends too much time whining about things! Lets stop and think about Motorcycles. Motorcycles prevent traffic, They prevent wear and tear on the roads, They are great for saving Fuel. They are also a great relaxer, Those who Ride Motorcycles are a lot less stressed!

If people stopped complaining about Motorcycles and went and rode a Motorcycle they might not be so bored with their lives and they would have something better to do with their time!!!

Those who Ride enjoy Life a lot More, This is like therapy and religion all rolled up into one for us! Please do not bring the stress and problems of your dull boring lives into our world !

If you are that board and are looking for something to do with your life email me and I will help you find something better to do with your time. Maybe we can find something you can do that could actually help make the world a better place!!!

There is a new law in Virginia that will ban Motorcycle Club Colors in Bars. The law, originally aimed at Street Gangs, is causing quite a stir with Virginia Bikers. The law states that Bar & Restaurant owners will lose their liquor license if they allow patrons who wear “gang” related attire such as Club Logo’s or Colored Bandannas.

These sort of “grey area” laws are extremely dangerous and a threat to everyone’s freedom. Who decides what constitutes “Gang Apparel”? I’m wondering if Boy Scouts are going to be able to eat together at Applebees if they are in their uniforms.

According to news reports, many Bikers and Motorcycle Club Members in Virginia have already begun fighting this law. If a law like this is allowed to stand in Virginia, it won’t be long until it is passed in other states across America!

We as Motorcyclists and Bikers (It does not matter what you call yourself) have to realize fast that we are all connected. It doesn’t matter what you ride, what State you live in or who you Support, we’re all in this together. What effects Me effects you and it doesn’t matter what you happen to think of me.

When the local Bar you and your Brothers love hanging out at is told that you and all other members of Motorcycle Clubs can no longer go there or they will revoke the Bars liquor license, What then?

This is no Joke my Biker Brothers, every month there is another new law that is aimed not only Motorcycle Club Members, but all Americans. It seems that every time the Government wants to take away a freedom, they find a way to craft a new law for our “safety”. What kind of Country is this turning into when you can’t wear what you want and suddenly, your constitutional right to assemble is taken away from you?

Although there are many ignorant people out there that believe Motorcycle Clubs are Gangs, that’s simply not the case. Most Motorcycle Clubs are made up of hard working, honest, law abiding, patriotic, American Citizens who enjoy a common bond, Motorcycles. It’s what is in a persons heart that determines who they are, not the clothes they wear.

In the past year the government has taken away the Colors of one Motorcycle Club. A law enforcement officer can demand anyone sporting the Clubs logo to forfeit it. The theory is that the loss of the logo strips the club of its “gang identity.”

Grant it, it appears that some of the Clubs members may have been involved in illegal activities, but that doesn’t mean that everyone who rides a Motorcycle should be punished for it. In fact, less than 10% of this 600 Member Club was even accused of wrong doing.

In addition, the Government and law enforcement agencies have been spending millions of our dollars to influence friends and ex-members of Motorcycle Clubs in an effort to infiltrate these clubs in hopes of catching members doing something illegal. Often, when they find that the Club they’ve infiltrated is nothing more than a group of Patriotic, Law Abiding Men & Women, they’ll fabric wrong doing so that they can justify the enormous amount of resources spent on these Fishing Expeditions.

Just imagine how much better off we’d all be if they used those resources to investigate the Corrupt Politicians, the Corporations that control our Country, Wall Street, and the other issues that are quickly sinking this great Nation.

What I want to know is, what will be the last straw? What’s it going to take for us to say enough is enough? We can not fight these Laws and Fight each other at the same time! We need to work together to save what we are, who we are.

The Government has taken away our rights to ride the Motorcycle we want, to wear what we want and now to go where we want! Why are we still fighting each other? When are we going to wake up??

Many of the "facts" in this story are based on Legend and Myth as much of the history of the Motorcycle and it's Culture was lost in the Great Rebellion of 2057.

Many of the “facts” in this story are based on Legend and Myth as much of the history of the Motorcycle and it’s Culture was lost in the Great Rebellion of 2057.

Taken from a history book in the year 2095… Motorcycles And The Culture They Inspire 1868-2017

Motorcycles started out as steam engines strapped on to bicycles in 1868. Soon after the gas engine took its place and by the 1900′s there were Motorcycle shops and Dealers all over the World. For awhile, Motorcycle’s were simply used as transportation. In 1907, when Henry Fords, Ford Motor Company, released the Model-T at a price many could afford, the Motorcycle soon went from a necessity to a luxury item.

In the 1940′s, the Motorcycle Culture really took off. An organization called the American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) held races and events all over the United States of America. In 1947 the AMA held an event in Hollister California. This event was attended by many of the AMA Racing Teams and Motorcycle Clubs. This event marks the beginning of the separation of Motorcyclists which eventually led to the end of Motorcycling in the year 2017. Newspapers, being what they where in 1947, got a hold of some pictures of Motorcyclists having fun at the event. The press decided to embellish the facts and transformed the story into a torrid tale of Bikers taking over a small town! More negative news stories soon followed. Soon after Hollywood began releasing movies that portrayed Motorcyclists as lawless and evil.

The American Motorcyclist Association, trying to end the bad press, responded by basically saying that the Newspapers had lied and that it was only 1% of the Motorcyclists that caused problems. This resulted in the first ripple in the Unity of the Motorcycle World and the Medias’ hatred of Bikers. Around the same time, the AMA began adding new requirements for motorcycles to be able to race in AMA sanctioned Races. Those whose motorcycles didn’t meet the new AMA requirements started their own Race Leagues. Because the new Race Leagues/Clubs were not AMA sanctioned, they soon became known as Outlaw Race Leagues/Clubs. Although many Bikers raced in both the AMA and Outlaw Leagues, another great separation had begun.

By the late 1960′s, the separation of the Motorcycle Community was becoming more evident. There were now three basic Motorcycle groups. The American Motorcycle Association, Outlaw/ 1%er Clubs(All 1%ers were Outlaws, but not all Outlaws were considered 1%ers) and Independent Riders. Over the years, the AMA continued to grow. In addition to racing, they began to champion Motorcycle Rights and Safety. As time went on, others formed independent groups whose goals were similar to that of the AMA. The inability or outright refusal of these groups to work together with each other, resulted in further separation of the Motorcycle Community and Culture.

In the 1970′s, rifts began to grow between some of the Outlaw/1% Clubs. By the 1990′s, the media had inflated these conflicts into stories that rivaled the tall tales of the old west. These tall tales where ment to invoked fear of the Outlaw/1% Clubs in the public. Everyone was lied to,. They were told to stay away from and fear all Outlaw/1% Clubs. The media began referring to Motorcycle Clubs as Motorcycle Gangs, a term meant to further instill fear into the heart of the Public. Stories and rumors began surfacing, claiming these “Gangs” were ruthless and would kill or maim people for little or no reason at all. By the early 21st Century, every minor conflict between Outlaw/1% Clubs was made into a book, made for TV movie, or docudrama. Titles like “Motorcycle Gang Wars In Your Back Yard” were common. Although real wars, conflicts, and suffering were occurring worldwide, the Corporate owned media chose to report fiction over fact.

In 2009, a conflict between two rival Clubs was captured on Video at a “Biker Build Off” event. The coverage by the media and negative publicity that followed was so overwhelming that in 2010, the United States Government passed a law banning all Outlaw/1% Clubs. In response, the Outlaw/1% Clubs put aside their differences and formed “Bikers United”. The Bikers fought back stating the law was unconstitutional and un-American. Even as late as 2010, Many Americans still clung to the misguided belief that they had rights and lived in a free Nation. The Bikers fought hard and came very close to winning, but without the support of the Motorcycle Rights Groups,The many other Clubs, and the Independent Riders, all of whom had been brainwashed into believing the Outlaw Clubs were criminal organizations, they were defeated.

Many of the Outlaw/1% Clubs tried to stay together. The Clubs went underground, but after many raids and constant Government harassment, they all but disappeared. In 2013, in an effort to ensure that the Outlaw/1% Clubs never returned, the Government decided to outlaw all Motorcycle Clubs and organizations. The AMA, the many Clubs and Motorcycle Rights Organizations United in an effort to battle the Governments oppression. They tried to use many of the same tactics and strategies that the Outlaw/1% Clubs used. Unfortunately, the Government was much smarter and stronger this time around. They had learned many lessons in their fierce battles with the Outlaw/1% Clubs, and they used what they had learned against the united Clubs and Organizations. With no Outlaw/1% Clubs left to assist them and without the support of the Independent Riders, the United Clubs and Organizations were defeated.

In 2015, the Government passed a law that made it illegal to even look like an Outlaw on a Motorcycle. The Independent Riders banned together to try and fight the law, but by this time their numbers were few and there wasn’t anyone left to show them how to fight for their rights. After a brief protest, they too were soundly defeated. In 2017, What was now a “Global Government”, in its infinite wisdom, decided that Motorcycles posed a danger to the public. They passed a law banning the manufacturing of Motorcycle’s and their use! They ordered that all existing Motorcyclesbe destroyed. This brought to an end, the History of Motorcycles. It would take until the year 2093 before anything even close to resembling a Motorcycle reappeared.

As a Historian looking back at the History of Motorcycles and the Culture it created, it amazes me how powerful the Motorcycle Culture could have been had they not let every little thing separate them. Instead of embracing something they all had in common and working together to protect it, they instead let their differences, the media, and the government divide them. By the time the Bikers realized how much they were connected and needed each other, it was too late. Their numbers were certainly sufficient to achieve victory, but their failure to come together as Brothers and Sisters and work for the common good ultimately caused their demise. Had they been victorious, it may have been enough to stop all of the oppression and tyranny that soon followed. History is full of stories just like this one, over and over again. The ones who love and honor Freedom the most are taken down first and the rest soon fall like dominoes. Until the Great Rebellion of 2057, we as a Global Society did not realize how important it was to put aside our differences. It may have taken awhile, but we finally figured it out…Just in time!

A few weeks back I received an email from a girl Kim about a Charity Motorcycle event she was working on for Bide A Wee an Animal shelter I worked at when I was younger. As I read the info I was looking forward to attending the event only to find it was being held at Jugs and Strokers the only “Biker Bar” on Long Island that does not allow Motorcycle Club Colors. I was pissed to find out I would not be welcome at this event. I then saw the email had been sent out to many other Motorcycle Clubs on Long Island. Pissed Off, I started writing a reply to the email and sent it out to the MC’s here on Long Island. Here is what I wrote.

Hey everyone this is LJ James.

You may not know this but I worked at Bide A Wee in Wantagh for many years. I have some great memories of my time working there. As much as I love the place and think Bide A Wee to be a truly great organization, I will not take off my Colors to go inside Jugs & Strokers to attend this event.

I see this email is addressed to many different Clubs. Some of your beliefs may be different then mine and you may take your Colors off to attend this event. I would hope all of you have more respect for your Club then to do that, but these are my beliefs and may not be yours.

I think it is only fair to Kim who is working very hard for this very worthy cause that she know what your feelings are about the Jugs and Strokers policy in regards to Colors. Kim has spent a lot of time working on this event and I would hate to see her event fail because she is unaware of the Revulsion Jugs and Strokers has towards Motorcycle Clubs!!!

Not only is it an old out dated Policy that promotes the Division of Motorcycle Riders, it is also illegal according to NY State Law! I have been working hard to protect and promote Motorcycle Rights and Unity here in NY and world wide. I think it is time We started working hard to change what is wrong here on Long Island! There is an old saying, “if you want to fix the world start in your own back yard”.

This is an event that, when I heard about it I wanted to attend. Then I hear it is being held at Jugs and now I am “not allowed to attend”.

I am not a bad guy! You all out there know me. How many of your events have I covered in Magazines? How many of you have I DJed for? Not only your Club events but many of your personal family events! I’ve even preformed wedding ceremonies for a few of you and after I married you I Djed your wedding!!!

You too are also all good people. Your MCs have done many things to make Long Island a better place. You have fed the Hungry, Clothed the poor, and made sure every Child on Long Island had a Toy for the Holidays. Our patches stand for what is great about America! Why should we be made to feel that wearing our Colors is even the slightest bit wrong?

If you ask Jugs and Strokers, they might try to use the excuse “well its not your group its other groups who are the bad guys”. That is a cop out, a lie, and an attempt to divide the Long Island Motorcycle Club world!!!

Over the past few years here on Long Island we have seen a Unity in the Motorcycle Club World that many still can not believe. Sport Bike Clubs and Cruiser Clubs riding and hanging together. AMA Clubs and 1% Clubs attend each others events. Law Enforcement Clubs and Outlaw Clubs Breaking Bread and Drinking together at events. I have seen every type of rider hanging out together. This is the Biker dream people!!!

There was a time when we were all told that you could not have a bar on Long Island where all MCs where aloud to mingle together. That there would be nothing but fights and problems. Then JDs Place opened and shortly after that, the Myth was put to rest.

The Motorcycle World here on Long Island has become something We are all very proud of. I call out to all of you MCs, independents, and MROs like ABATE, it is time to end the humiliating practice that Jugs and Strokers has been aloud to inflict upon the Long Island Motorcycle World for far too long!!!

I am tired of this bar being allowed to claim it is a biker bar for bikers, but if your a member of a Motorcycle Club and wear your Colors, you are some how an undesirable, and unwelcome. I say time is up, Jugs and Stokers! You have made enough money off the Long Island Motorcycle world! You need to stop being part of the Problem and become part of the Solution!!!

I’m interested to know what the feelings are of the rest of you!!!

(Because of this reply, Shortly after I wrote this the event was switched to another Long Island Biker Bar “Sick Moon Saloon” That welcomes all who Ride)

Discrimination On The Basis Of Clothing Or Club Membership Is ILLEGAL Article I, Section 11 of the New York State Constitution states “that no person shall be denied the equal protection of the laws of this state or any subdivision thereof.” Article 4, Section 40 of the Civil Rights Law provides that “all persons within the jurisdiction of this state shall be entitled to the full and equal accommodations, advantages, facilities and privileges of any places of public accommodations, resort or amusement subject only to the conditions and limitations established by law and applicable alike to all persons.” The U.S. Supreme Court has ruled that individuals have the constitutional right under the First Amendment to wear clothing which displays writing or designs. Cohen v. California, 403 US 15 (1971). In addition, the right of an individual to freedom of association has long been recognized and protected by the United States Supreme Court. Thus, a person’s right to wear the clothing of his choice, as well as his right to belong to any club or organization his choice is constitutionally protected, and persons or establishments who discriminate on the basis of clothing or club membership are subject to a lawsuit.

Since 1957 Harley Davidson have been produced a motorcycle titled the Sporster, yet it was not until 1986 that the first Harley 883 rolled off of their production line. For many people who would like to own a Harley Davidson then the 883 is the ideal choice as it is the most inexpensive of all the models that this motorcycle now produce.

Today there are eight different models of the Sportster Harley Davidson available along with the four versions of the 883 there are three versions of the 1200 and of course the XL50. The XL 50 was introduced to the market as a celebration of Harley Davidson producing the Sportster for 50 years.

The four versions of the 883 Sportster that are now offered by one of the most well recognized custom motorcycles in the world today are as follows:-

1. Harley Davidson XL Sportster 883 – Of all the motorcycles in this family this particular model is the cheapest. You will expect to pay from $6,595 up to $7,990 for this one. 2. Harley Davidson XL Sportster 883 Low – Although not as cheap as the previous model mentioned you still will easily get change out of $8,500. This one costs between $6,995 and $8,390. 3. Harley Davidson XL Sportster 883 Custom – Of all the bikes that are in the 883 Sportster category this is the most expensive. They can cost as little as $7,795 but as much as $9,555. 4. Harley Davidson XL Sportster 883R – Not as expensive as the previously mentioned version of the 883 Sportster you can still expect to pay between $7,795 and $9,050 for this particular model.

Along with Harley Davidson producing 4 different models of this particular motorcycle they have spent time making improvements to each one in order to improve the ride on them. Today all come with a larger rear axle which has made the bikes much more stable. They have also spent time on improving the mounting of the engines within the motorcycles. Today all Harley Davidson engines are mounted on to rubber that is placed on the frame and this reduces the amount of vibration the rider will feel.

The other main changes that have been made on all the Sportster models and not just the 883 ones is that have a belt drive rather than a chain drive. They come with helical cut transmission gears, which has resulted in a reduction in the amount of gear whine they produce. Then this year they changed the bikes from being carburetted models instead all of the bikes in the range now have a fuel-injected engine instead.

So if you are looking for a Harley Davidson motorcycle that isn’t going to break the bank but will still offer you the same ride quality and prestige that the other Harley Davidson motorcycles have to offer. Then it is about time you seriously considered getting yourself a Harley 883.

Therefore why not spend sometime surfing the net and see what more you can learn about the Harley 883 one of the most iconic motorcycles the world has ever known. Soon you can start to feel just like Dennis Hopper and Peter Fonda felt in Easy Rider.
