You Won’t Need A Large SUV In Puerto Merolos

February 1st, 2012

Another SUV model that is being offered in the market these days is the Ford Escape. This was designed specifically by Ford for family use. The roomy interior of this model will enable one to give each kid a seat in addition to the space already consumed by sports gears like hockey bags or baseball. Grocery bags and loads can very well be accommodated by this vehicle even if you will be buying the stuffs that you need for several days of camping.

Similar with all autos these days, this Ford Escape is available in various model types. So besides from the base model there are different variants to choose from. Besides from the roomy interior, additional space can be enjoyed further with the presence of roof rack that can either be cross bar or side bar. This can be used as the place for bulky paraphernalia that will not fit inside the vehicle, say for instance bicycles, kayaks and the likes. This roof rack can serve as the cargo space too to give more room for the passenger’s legs and feet. Although one can still opt for the stuffs to be positioned inside the auto and still make the passengers feel at ease.

The Ford Escape is offered in two transmission options. If you are one of the many who prefer mixing your gear during driving, you can opt for the manual five speed model. However in case you are residing in areas that involve traveling steep roads or several stops and starts it is better to pick the automatic gearbox option. Five-speed and six-speed are the selections for the automatic transmission. For off terrain travel, the all four wheel drive model can provide the best deal. Those who are frequently hitting dirt roads can find Escapade’s all wheel drive very handy. The fuel source of this model can also vary. Unlike other auto models that are only fueled by fossil fuel this can have models which require gas as well as the more eco friendly and economical hybrid ones. With the hybrid engine, one can lessen his carbon footprint with the lesser emission produced by this engine type. The power output of Escapade can be obtained from a 2 L engine or 3 L engine. The buyer can decide on the engine size based on the power he need for hauling up or transporting. Waverly Auto mall Winnipeg

Then, the thermal control in the interior can be manipulated as well to make the travel very suitable. Various colors are offered for the models of Ford Escape, these are blue, well heeled green and deep red. There are also accessories that can make the extended trip more fun like monitor for DVDs, the audio system as well as radio satellite.

To have a guaranteed security, Ford Escape models can well be equipped with security package or even the more advanced, keyless entry. This enables one to bolt, unbolt and start the engine of the auto in a remote place without using any key at all instead by just pushing a certain button on the key of the car. Enhancement of visibility during a foggy or murky trip is very important which can be accomplished by adding reflectors on the hood as well as moon roof. V:20

Why Buying A Used Car Gets You The Best Deal

May 13th, 2011

As soon as you drive your new car away from the garage you immediately lose a load of money no matter what make or model of car you buy. You will have lost at least two thousand in value just because you brought a new instead of a used car. To get better value for money it is well worth considering buying a nearly new car instead.

Buying a used car does not mean that you have to go through the process of dealing with a dodgy salesman. There are plenty of reputable used car dealers out there who are no pushier when it comes to selling you a car than a normal garage is. The law ensures that those cars they sell are in reasonable condition and represent good value for money. Be sure to check the car over thoroughly regardless of whom you buy it from.

Most used cars sold by dealers are only a few years old with a few of them being less than 6 months old or with only delivery mileage on the clock. You can usually negotiate on price and extras if you buy from a reputable 2nd hand car dealer. Some large dealerships offer deals on servicing and maintenance if you buy the car from them. Something that over time can be very valuable indeed.

Buying a used vehicle privately is a bit more risky, because you have less consumer rights. However, do not let that put you off completely buying privately allows you the option to pay an even lower price for your used car. It is important to do your homework if you do this and to remember that you really do get what you pay for. If at all possible get the vehicle checked over by the garage before you agree to buy it. If that is not possible take a friend with you who has some mechanical experience or who is familiar with buying cars and what to look for. A second pair of eyes is always better than one.

Preventing Accidents – Tyre Pressures

July 19th, 2010

Maintaining your tyres is critical for the safety of you, your family and other road users. Badly maintained tyres adversely affect your ability to handle your car properly in an emergency or high-speed situation. Worn or wrongly inflated tyres are a factor in 20% of all accidents.

You can reduce tyre wear and petrol costs, simply by checking that you have the correct pressure in your tyres. In addition, your car will handle better and be more comfortable, with less road noise. Under inflated tyres can lead to a serious accident, the lack of air in the tyre makes a blow out at high speed more likely.

27% of vehicles are driven with the wrong level of air in one or more of the tyres. Having the wrong tyre pressure can lead to your insurance being reluctant to pay out in the case of an accident, or in some parts of the world to your being sued, heavily fined or prosecuted for negligence.

Make it a habit to check your tyre pressures on a weekly basis. If possible, use the pressure gauge at your local petrol station. They tend to be more accurate, and it is easier to adjust your tyre pressures using their air system. The correct tyre pressures for your vehicle can be found in your owner’s manual, or on the vehicle ID plate. At the same time check the depth of your tyre tread.

If you cannot rely on yourself to carry out a weekly tyre check, fit a system that will do it for you. You can buy sensors that are placed inside each tyre, which then monitor the pressure and temperature inside each tyre. Using Wi-Fi you are warned when your tyres need air or become too hot. The receiver usually just plugs into your cars cigarette lighter, or can be wired into the dashboard.

Selling Your Car – Paperwork

July 7th, 2010

Prior to putting your car up for sale make sure that you have the original V5C document, without it most people will not buy your vehicle. If you have lost the original you can apply for a replacement from the DVLA using a V62 application form or by calling 0300 790 6802.

When showing someone your vehicle do not leave them alone with it or allow them to take a test drive without you, thieves sometimes pose as potential buyers. Do not part with your vehicle unless you are sure that what you are being paid with is genuine, even cash can be forged.

Provided you made it clear when you advertised the car for sale or the buyer agrees you can get a refund on your road tax from the DVLA. Remove the tax disc from the vehicle and apply for a refund from the DVLA by post, enclosing a completed V14 form and the tax disc.

If you have a personalised number plate make sure that you fill out the paperwork needed for you to retain the right to continue to use that number plate. You need to fill in the DVLA form V317 to do this. Do not advertise or sell the car until you have received confirmation of your right to retain usage from the DVLA.

It is important that when you sell your vehicle that you inform the DVLA. Not doing so could lead to you being responsible for any motoring offences committed by the new owner or anyone else that drives that car. The simplest way to do this is to fill out your part of the V5C registration document and send it to the DVLA. If you do not have the V5C you can write a letter informing the DVLA of the change of ownership, instead. Once you have told the DVLA that you have sold the vehicle they will send you a letter ,within 4 weeks, that confirms they are aware of the change of ownership. If you do not receive this confirmation letter within 4 weeks it is important that you speak to the DVLA to find out why not.

Winter Driving – Checks And Tips

June 27th, 2010

Regularly check tyres for wear and foreign objects, make sure that they are inflated to the correct pressure. Checks like these are particularly important to ensure that the car is as stable as possible in icy or wet conditions.

All your lights need to be clean and working properly, when visibility is low you will be pleased that you have checked and repaired them. Your windscreen wipers also need to work properly, worn wipers leave streaks that in poor conditions will seriously impact on your ability to see out of the car. Top up your windscreen washers more frequently and use a good brand of screen-washer designed for winter use. It should be effective against salt and will not freeze at low temperatures. If you have completed a long journey in bad conditions top up your screen-wash before you use your car again.

Carry a pair of gloves, some de-icier and a scraper. Glare from snow can reduce visibility, so carry a pair of sunglasses with you in the winter. In addition, put some warm clothes, a pair of good waterproof walking shoes, a blanket, high energy food like chocolate and some water in the car. You also need a high visibility jacket in case of a breakdown, a torch and at least one warning triangle are important too. If snow is predicted take your snow chains and a shovel with you too. Make sure that you can charge your phone in your car, batteries go flat faster in cold weather.

Do not drive away until all of the windows have de-misted properly and are clear of ice. Make sure that the car’s blower is blowing hot air before driving away, this will ensure that your windows will not re-mist a few minutes later.

If you breakdown do not be tempted to stay in the car. If you can safely wait outside of the car for the breakdown truck do so, in particular on motorways or dual carriageways, it is far safer. Try not to abandon your car unless it is absolutely necessary.

Buying A Used Car? Are There Any Benefits Over Buying New?

April 5th, 2010

Even though prices have dropped slightly, buying a car is still a huge undertaking not just in terms of purchasing the car itself but also in the cost of keeping it on the road year after year. But, a car fulfils so many functions these days. It not only offers a safe and secure means of personal transport but it also represents an extension of your personality, whether that’s intentional or not.

However, you don’t necessarily need to buy a brand new car to feel secure, or have that status symbol you’ve always wanted. Buying a used car can still be a special event and a used car often has many advantages over buying a new car anyway. And don’t forget that some select second hand cars are even more desirable than a new one, particularly the old classic models like Jaguars and Mercedes cars which can command a high price tag to collectors in the industry.

Most second hand cars are cheaper than their newer versions (unless they’ve been modified in some way) and that reduced cost often gives the buyer a lot more choice to opt for a slightly higher spec model of car than if they were buying new. So, there are definitely some benefits to buying a used car if you are still having doubts or feel you are settling for second best.

A hidden cost issue of a brand new car purchase is depreciation. A new car will depreciate around 20% as soon as it is driven away from the garage. There are some exceptions to this of course and each make of car should be researched but it’s a pretty good rule of thumb.

There is an extensive range of cars which can be chosen from when being used. The second hand car market is not limited to waiting times or hidden extras to add to the car. When you buy a used car you buy what you can see. It will will come with a history and if you are buying from a reputable source you will have access to that history. This will be apparent in the form of a log book, repair history, or tell tale signs on the inside or the outside of the car.

Car Finance Calculator – Get The Best Deal When Buying A New Car

January 30th, 2010

You have finally decided to buy a new car. This is a big decision that involves a lot of money. You probably will be getting an auto loan to pay for the purchase and that is another big decision. You will have to pay a large amount of money over a period of time and it is something that will have to be figured into your monthly budget.

You need to make some careful calculations to make sure that you can afford this car finance expense each month. There is no need to risk making errors in calculations by trying to do it yourself when you can use the internet to help you out. You can find a car finance calculator online and make calculations simple. A car finance calculator will also let you see different payment options so you can find the right option.

You have to keep in mind that the longer the time you take to pay, the lesser will be the monthly cost, but you’ll end up paying more in total at the end. Thus an online car finance calculator can help you determine the correct combination between time and money that is the maximum you can pay painlessly each month to ensure that you have paid your loan off in the minimum possible time.

You should avoid taking the payment protection with your auto loan. It is a good thing, but it is better if you get it separate from the auto loan. You also need to remember that your car will go down in value over time. By the end of your loan, no matter how long it is, your car will be worth less than what you bought it for.

An online finance calculator can help you to check out different types of loans. You can look into both secured and unsecured loans. With an unsecured loan you have more risk and higher interest rates, bit with excellent credit it can turn out to be a great choice.

With an unsecured loan there are less worries. You don’t have to fear your car being repossessed if you don’t pay. It is not used as collateral because this type of loan doesn’t require collateral. A secured loan, on the other hand, is best for someone who has bad credit and would need to borrow a large amount with a length of time to pay it back.

An online car finance calculator will allow you to breeze through calculations that would take you a long time to do on your own. Keep in mind, though, that these calculators are not 100% accurate. They do not always figure in every factor that is used in figuring your loan terms.

You may make a good income, but if you are about to lose your job then the figures from the car finance calculator would not give you the whole picture. You need to think about your personal circumstances in addition to what the calculator tells you. This will let you see the whole picture and enable you to make the right decision.
